Competition_Use –
Used in local rock crawling competitions. Fast line speed crucial for timed events. This winch delivers. Synthetic rope lighter for competition weight savings. Only complaint: remote could be more responsive. Competition-worthy.
Beginner_Recovery –
First winch purchase. Synthetic rope made learning safer. Remote is intuitive. Practice sessions revealed need for tree saver and shackles (not included). Winch itself is excellent for beginners to experts.
Farm_Utility –
Used on farm more than trails. Pulls stuck tractors, moves fallen trees. Motor gets hot during continuous use but thermal protection works. Synthetic rope easier on hands than steel cable. More than just off-road gear.
Restoration_Pro –
Installed on my 2005 LJ restoration. Modern winch on classic Jeep – works perfectly. Needed custom bracket fab. Synthetic rope looks odd on old Jeep but functions better. Motor draws 450 amps at stall – upgraded electrical system needed.
Family_Safety –
Bought for peace of mind with family on forest service roads. Tested monthly, used twice for others. Kids think it’s cool. Instructions were vague for wiring to auxiliary switch. Now I feel safer with my 8-year-old in the Jeep.
Mountain_Rescue –
Colorado mountain trails at 10,000ft. Winch works well in thin air. Synthetic rope doesn’t get brittle in cold like some claim. Remote battery lasts about 8 hours of intermittent use. Saved my group twice this season.
Club_Recovery –
As trail leader for our 30-member club, I’ve used this winch for 8 member recoveries this season. Handles double-line pulls without overheating. Remote occasionally gets interference in crowded trail areas. Synthetic rope shows minor abrasion but safe. Professional grade.
Used_Bargain –
Found this used for 60% of new price. Rope had minor UV damage but tested at 8,500lbs. Replaced contactor for $80. Now works like new. Warn quality evident even used. Smart buy for patient shoppers.
River_Crossing –
Submerged twice during river crossings. Winch still works perfectly after drying out. Synthetic rope floats – easier to handle in water. Control box seals held up. Would recommend for water-heavy trail areas.
Overland_Prep –
Essential for solo overlanding in Baja. Used it twice when high-centered on rocks. The sealed solenoid survived river crossing. Free spool clutch is smooth. Carried spare parts but haven’t needed them. Confidence builder for remote travel.
Practical_Owner –
Didn’t think I’d need it until I did. Stuck in farm mud pulling trailer. Self-recovered in 10 minutes. Fairlead rollers squeak. Winch plate mounting bolts needed Loctite. Good insurance policy. Would buy used again.
Trail_Angel –
Used this winch to help 7 other Jeepers this year. The 10,000lb rating is conservative – pulled heavier loads safely. Synthetic rope is safer for group recoveries. Remote range decreases in wooded areas. Best purchase for those who help others.
Trail_Guide_Mike –
Used this on my JLUR during Moab trip last spring. The synthetic rope saved weight and handled beautifully. Remote control works consistently at 25ft. Only gripe: the control box mounting bracket could be sturdier. After 15 recoveries (8 for others), still performing strong. Worth every penny for serious off-roaders.
Budget_Recovery –
Compared to new at $1200+, this used Warn at $450 was a steal. Pulled my JKU out of clay mud that trapped 3 other trucks. Synthetic rope shows some UV fading but tested at 8500lbs still. Control wiring needed new connectors. Perfect for budget builds.
Desert_Recovery –
Used in Moab sand for 3 seasons. Synthetic rope handles heat better than steel in desert. Remote failed once due to sand in connector – cleaned and worked. Motor pulls strong even after multiple long pulls. Fairlead shows wear but functional. Essential for desert solo trips.
Winter_Rescue –
Living in Montana, this winch has paid for itself twice over. Pulled neighbors out of snowdrifts 5 times last winter. Synthetic rope doesn’t freeze like steel. Remote works with thick gloves. Mounted on my steel bumper – solid as a rock.

Heavy duty unit. The synthetic line is much safer than steel cable.

Only trust Warn. The Zeon series is top tier.
